The Robinson's Dream Wedding
-Barenese
I had to set the tone for 2018 with a trip to one of my favorite countries, Mexico of course! This place never gets old! So, January 2018 I traveled back to Mexico, but this time to celebrating the union of one of my favorite friends Ashley Caldwell, turned Robinson :) This trip was so special to me, so I wanted to share the experience with you all! My friend of 16+ years, tied the knot to her prince charming, fellow Hamptonian, Eddie Robinson, at Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa.
Dreams Riviera, is located on the beach of Riviera Maya, which is not far from Cancun and not far from Playa del Carmen. I really enjoyed this resort, but if you are looking for something close to any nightlife this is not the place to stay. If relaxation is what you’re seeking, then this place is perfect.
Accommodations- Dreams Riviera has the cutest rooms! I stayed in the Premium Deluxe room with a plunge pool on the patio. Of course, I choose this room because of the plunge pool, which only ended up being good for pictures! These plunge pools were not heated, so the water was freezing. I spent about 10 seconds in this pool. Also, the pool has no privacy so you might as well head to the main hotel pools. These plunge pools are a bomb idea in theory, but not worth the extra money. I honestly would have preferred a room with a view. Aside from the freezing pool, the room was a vibe. The room made you feel like you were in a bungalow, with lots of beautiful wood panels and earth tone décor.
The amenities at Dreams Riviera were nice as well. The hotel has 3 large pools. One of the pools had a swim up bar, which is a personal highlight and a vacation commodity! The pools were surrounded by several first come first serve cabanas which is clutch, since some hotels like to charge for cabanas and day beds. The beach also had cabanas and tiki huts which is a super unique feature and a perfect alternative to umbrellas. I am totally the person who goes to the beach and finds the nearest shade, so this was perfect for me. The resort has a variety of food options, of course they have a buffet, they have a hibachi restaurant, a French spot, a Mexican restaurant and an Italian and Mediterranean spot. Most importantly the “world-class spa” as they call it, did not disappoint. It was nice and clean! I got the deep tissue massage and I left feeling happy and satisfied. My masseuse’s name was Georgina and she was official. Ask for her when you go! Side note, the spa also does the fish pedicure if you are interested in that.
There are very few words to describe how perfect the Robinson’s wedding truly was, so I will let the pictures do most of the talking. Destination wedding planning can be so difficult for the obvious reasons but this wedding was perfect! If you are looking for a hotel in Mexico to host your wedding, I recommend you check out this hotel. They did a great job under the management of E33 (www.e33bayarea.com), The Robinson’s wedding coordinator. This wedding changed all the doubt I had about having a destination wedding and I am so fortunate I was able to be a part of something so magical and full of love. It wasn’t a dry eye in the ceremony! It was literally a Dream!
